Emma Hakenesch
Hello, thanks for visiting!
My name is Emma Hakenesch and I am the founder of the Women in Business Association here at Maastricht University. Having grown up in the Biotechnology hub in San Diego, California, I had the opportunity to meet many influential businesswomen who have been successful in all realms of life and business. This has inspired me for my own future as well as the future of all women in business!
So, along with Ellen and Sophie, I decided to take an initiative here in Maastricht and create an environment and community where we, as students, can come together, network, learn, and grow together! I hope many of you will take advantage of this opportunity and join us in this effort. Come on and join us – we are excited to meet you all!
Ellen von Sydow
Hi! My name is Ellen von Sydow and I am one of the co-founders of this association. Although I am originally from Sweden I have also lived in Japan, the Netherlands, and Spain. This allowed me to meet lots of interesting people and opened up my eyes to what the world has to offer.
My whole life I have been surrounded by inspiring women who have helped me believe in myself. With this association, I want to make sure that other women feel comfortable in reaching for their goals and aren’t holding themselves back. Women in Business is a place for everyone, where we are looking to grow together and empower each other!
Sophie Bauer
Hi Everyone! My name is Sophie and I am one of the co-founders of the Women in Business Association in Maastricht. I am a third-year International Business Student that strives to have an impact. During the last couple of years, I was inspired by very interesting and influential women that opened my eyes and made me want to achieve as much as they did.
We know that women are underrepresented in large corporations, hence, together with Emma and Ellen, we wanted to use take advantage of this initiative to connect, support, and advance young female leaders to realize their full potential. I hope to see many of you apply as a member and take advantage of our amazing guest speaking events, networking events as well as workshops. Let’s develop ourselves together!
